Childcare Assistant

26 hours a week - 8.15am-3.15pm, 4 days a week Term Time only

Wyndham Park Nursery School is an outstanding school and we are looking for a Childcare assistant to join our small, friendly and dedicated staff team.
The position is for 26 hours a week, Tuesday to Friday 8.15am – 3.15 pm (includes a 30 minute break), during term time plus attendance at training days.
You must have an NVQ level 3 in childcare or a similar qualification such as a NNEB
The position is to be part of a class team working with 2, 3 and 4 year olds and you will have responsibility for a key group of children.
You will work under the direction of our excellent teachers who will support you.
However, the ability to work on your own initiative is essential as you will be expected to use it to support children’s learning and development on a daily basis through small group sessions and during continuous provision. It is important that applicants will have good working knowledge of child development as well as previous experience of planning and assessing with reference to the EYFS curriculum.
You must have a passion for helping with children’s learning and a love of spending time following in the playful pursuits of 2, 3- and 4-year olds! You must be patient, kind and a great listener of children. Calmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build relationships are essential qualities.
The post also requires good literacy skills and excellent communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with other team members, parents and other professionals from time to time.
You must have good ICT skills as we record children’s learning on an online system, though you will be supported to do this.
